Brett and Debbie

YOUR HOSTS

The Captain and the Admiral. They built The Ship, and they run it themselves.

We were always going to
end up here.

Brett and Debi spent over twenty years bringing family to the Bay of Fires on holiday. It was never really a question of if, only when.

They've travelled to a lot of the world, and every time they land back in Tasmania they take a breath and say the same thing: we're home. Around here they call the island The Ark.

When they're not making up rooms or stopping for a chat, they're usually coordinating shipping for Tasmanian exporters and importers, the day job that never quite switches off. And they're music people. There's a band room in the shed, fully kitted out. If you play, say so, it's yours for the stay.

Why People Stay.

"The best stay we had in Tasmania."

"This was without a doubt the best stay we had in Tasmania. We can only echo what other guests have said, our one regret is that we booked just a single night in this wonderful place. Thank you for creating such a memorable experience."

"The clearest night sky we've ever seen."

"We had a fantastic time. Debbie and Brett are the most fabulous hosts, and the accommodation was truly outstanding, especially the bed. Take the opportunity to wander through the native bushland and observe the clearest night sky we've ever seen. We'll definitely be back."

Michelle & Damien

"So quiet, and the view is amazing."

"Amazing experience at The Ship. We loved the place, how quiet it is, and the view is amazing. We were lucky to swim in the beautiful lagoon that only appears every five years. The mattress is so comfy you sleep so well. Many thanks to Brett and Debby for welcoming us."

Stay in touch

We're on Instagram and Facebook, both under "The Ship, Bay of Fires." We love seeing the place through your eyes, so tag us while you're here.

And if you'd rather just reach us directly, we're only ever a message or a call away.

From St Helens, follow Binalong Bay Road toward Binalong Bay. After about ten minutes, turn left at Gardens Road, then almost immediately left again onto Reids Road, which is dirt. About 300 metres down, look for the driveway on the right marked by an anchor, a rudder and a propeller. That's us.

We can’t wait to see you.
