FOOD & DRINK
Tasmanian produce, a barbecue, a fire, and all the time in the world.
From the island
A stay at The SHiP is also an opportunity to taste Tasmania.
Our pantry is stocked with a carefully chosen collection of Tasmanian produce, sourced from across the island and, wherever possible, from our own east coast.
Wake to our Captain's Breakfast featuring Tasmanian-roasted coffee, local produce and ingredients selected to celebrate the region.
As the day unfolds, choose from a selection of premium Tasmanian wines, Deep South Brewing ales, Furneaux Distillery gin and whisky, along with other island favourites.
For the evening, we offer generous platters designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. Choose from artisan cheese and charcuterie featuring Tasmania cheeses and local accompaniments, or select a seafood or premium meat platter, ready for you to cook yourself on the outdoor barbecue overlooking the forest.
There are no restaurant bookings to keep and no set dining times. Just exceptional Tasmanian produce, a barbecue, a fire, and all the time in the world.
Why People Stay.
"The best stay we had in Tasmania."
"This was without a doubt the best stay we had in Tasmania. We can only echo what other guests have said, our one regret is that we booked just a single night in this wonderful place. Thank you for creating such a memorable experience."

"The clearest night sky we've ever seen."
"We had a fantastic time. Debbie and Brett are the most fabulous hosts, and the accommodation was truly outstanding, especially the bed. Take the opportunity to wander through the native bushland and observe the clearest night sky we've ever seen. We'll definitely be back."

"So quiet, and the view is amazing."
"Amazing experience at The Ship. We loved the place, how quiet it is, and the view is amazing. We were lucky to swim in the beautiful lagoon that only appears every five years. The mattress is so comfy you sleep so well. Many thanks to Brett and Debby for welcoming us."

The SHiP Honey
The bees got here before we did. They work the coastal heath and tea tree along the dunes, and what comes back to the hives changes with the season. We take it off by hand in small batches, strain it once, and jar it exactly as it is. Nothing heated, nothing added.
There's a jar waiting for you in the galley. If you want to take one home, they're in the shop.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
From St Helens, follow Binalong Bay Road towards Binalong Bay. After approximately 10 minutes, turn left into Gardens Road, then almost immediately left again onto Reids Road, an unsealed road. Continue for around 300 metres and look for the entrance on your right, marked by three maritime icons – an anchor, a ship's wheel and a propeller. You've arrived at The SHiP.
