The SHiP
THE ACCOMMODATION
Two private rooms on sixty-eight acres, where the forest meets the Bay of Fires.
Some places are visited.
Others are experienced.
The SHiP isn't accommodation beside the Bay of Fires. It is sixty-eight private acres above it.
Wake to birdsong instead of traffic. Wander through native forest. Watch wallabies graze beneath the gums. Sit beside the dam with a coffee, or simply do nothing at all.
We'll welcome you when you arrive.
Everything after that belongs to you.
No peak season. No weekend surcharge. No school holiday rate. The price you see is the price, always.
The Stay.
Luxury
No expense has been spared. A Saffire queen bed, Waverley Woollen Mills blankets, a rain shower, a collection of books worth staying in for, original art and artefacts on the walls.
When you have finished exploring the Bay of Fires, you can stop entirely, and recharge for whatever comes next.
Peaceful
Some mornings the beach is yours alone. Just sand, the swell, and a line of footprints behind you.
Back at The Ship, the quiet holds. Frogs and surf put you to sleep, kookaburras and black cockatoos wake you, and at night the whole universe lays itself out overhead.
Social
An undercover area with a barbecue, a fire pit, and a view over the lawns to the sea as the sun drops behind Mount Pearson.
Tasmanian ale, wine and gin on site, a platter in the fridge, eggs from the chickens, vegetables from the garden. And if you would rather not cook, we will cook for you.
Wholly Tasmanian.
The ale, the gin, the wine, the whisky. The shampoo and conditioner, organic and Tasmanian. The eggs, the vegetables, the honey.
Staying at The Ship means eating, drinking, and washing your hair in the place you came to see. It is a small thing, and it is the whole point.
One hundred percent renewable energy. Carbon neutral.

The SHiP is our home,
and for a little while, it becomes yours.
We created this place because we believe where you stay should be every bit as memorable as where you travel. Set across 68 private acres overlooking the Bay of Fires, The SHiP is intentionally small, with just two guest rooms, allowing every stay to feel personal, peaceful and unhurried.
We'll welcome you when you arrive, share a few local favourites if you'd like them, and then leave you to enjoy the property in complete privacy.
We are happy to cook you breakfast, in fact we are well known for it. Prefer to arrive with a grazing platter and local produce waiting? Just let us know before you arrive. Seafood and meat BBQ platters are also available for you to cook up under the stars overlooking the Tasman Sea.
Many of the products you'll find throughout The SHiP are sourced from our own property or from producers across the lsland. It's simply how we choose to live, and we're delighted to share that experience with our guests.
"We wanted to create a place people leave feeling better than when they arrived." — Brett & Debi
We can’t wait to welcome you.
From St Helens, follow Binalong Bay Road towards Binalong Bay. After approximately 10 minutes, turn left into Gardens Road, then almost immediately left again onto Reids Road, an unsealed road. Continue for around 300 metres and look for the entrance on your right, marked by three maritime icons – an anchor, a ship's wheel and a propeller. You've arrived at The SHiP.
